Pricing and Lesson Format
I teach on a one to one basis. There is no fixed time for getting to a competent/safe level with learning kitesurfing as everyone has such varied experience/ ability. The lessons contribute to completing the 3 stages of learning to kitesurf: trainer kite control, body dragging and finally board control.
Lesson (2 hours) $195 including kitesurfing equipment (Bring your own wetsuit).
How many lessons will I need?
Our standard course is 3 lessons. If you have spent a fair time flying kites, paragliding and windsurfing /living in the water then maybe 2 but most people will need 3. Once you have had lessons the important thing is to build your experience up slowly and not go out in the wrong conditions/ wrong locations/ with the right equipment/ beyond your capabilites - we will teach you about this.
Previous Experience
No previous experience is required; however, experience of kite flying, windsurfing, wakeboarding, sailing, skateboarding, surfing and, snowboarding can all contribute to developing your kitesurfing skills faster.
Equipment
You need to supply a wetsuit. We supply kites, boards and harness. We teach on Naish equipment, the longest running kitesurfing company still in existence today, and of course founded by the kitesurfing legend Robby Naish.
Where can this all go?
Your future possibilities are huge. Enjoy the pleasure of simply freeriding around cruising the ocean. Develop freestyle skills both unique to kitesurfing and similar to wakeboarding. Get into and enjoy surfing waves with a kite in conditions not usually suitable for stand up surfing you can even ride an actual surfing surfboard for kiting as your skills progress. Other aspect of kiting you can get involved in are speed (Kitesurfing holds the record for fastest wind powered water vessel on earth) racing and adventure and it is just the best equipment to travel with as it packs up so small.
